Hey! That thing got a Huma? Sweet!!

Hello AirgunNation Peoples,

Yeah that things got a Huma regulator now and a handful of other upgrades that have it shooting slugs like it was made for it!

Here is a rundown of all that I’ve done to my (2017 - Gen-2) .25 caliber FX Crown walnut to get it shooting slugs accurately and with decent power.



600mm Slug “A” Liner

Extra High Pressure Gen 2 Huma-air Regulator (170 bar setting)

Huma-air Wika Pressure Gauges (Reservoir and Regulator side) 

FX 580cc Carbon Fiber Bottle

6.35mm FX Crown/ Impact Valve Seat

Custom Hammer Spring Weight 

.25/.30 Transfer Port and Harmonized Internal Hammer Spring Tension Grub Screw @ the Max Setting on the Hammer Spring Adjuster

All these modifications and upgrades combine to give the following results with these two weight .250 slugs.



Nielsen Specialty Ammo 31.7 grain .250 HP Slugs

Nielsen Specialty Ammo 33.5 grain .250 HP Slugs

10 Shot 100 Yard Groups with each NSA Slugs @ my 10 Inch Gong Plates 

I’ve shot smaller groups, but I think those are all possible kill shots at 100 yards.

I‘m kinda proud of the Ol’ Crown and the results from the weeks of at home DIY tuning! Mission complete. I’ve already taken a few critters with some awesome shots! Wow what a “POP”!!!

JSB KING HEAVY MKII’s 33.95 grain shoot like lasers at this tune also! At an average 916 fps.

With JSB KING .25 25.39 grain I turn the hammer spring tension dial down to “4” and they launch @ 960 fps! 70 shots per fill. Accurate as heck!

All from the same 600mm slug liner/barrel!

7 coats of MINWAX Wipe-on POLY Clear Gloss.

The new Huma regulator that’s installed worked perfectly right off the bat! The FX factory regulator worked very well also, but was not really designed to work at pressures above 150 bar. That is the only time I experienced creep, when I set it above 150 bar. This Huma though, keeps the ES spreads very low, and recovers back to pressure after each shot super quickly! Gauges work like a Swiss watch.

Great looking Crown. I got a gen 1 Crown that we need to have the power up grade done to it.Who can I get to do it or where can I get the parts? Here is the Hemi's big brother making a Ford look bad. My personal old 1995 2500 4x4 Dodge Cummins with 250,000 miles on it and having to drag a dead work truck F250 7.3 back home for repairs. We have had some good times with the Ford guys with this picture. One that had alway drove Fords has 2 Dodge Cummins now.

I think I'm a Ford guy, having had an F-150 or two over the years. Right now, I'm having big love for my 12-year-old Honda Ridgeline that just keeps going flawlessly.

Having said that, when I gaze upon yon picture, all I see is a Ford truck eating grapes while he has that Mopar thing do its bidding. No sense getting its oil all dirty for BS.
