Here's an idea for an FX Wildcat accessory

It would be good if someone would invent some kind of dense strip to put on the Wildcat III cheek rest. The purpose would be to dampen the "WHACK" of the hammer right beside your ear. Is this picky? Yep. But after a while that sucker is loud and may even cause a flinch! Sounds like something the bench rest boys might be interested in - and us back yard plinkers as well.

Mike - I've honestly thought about using an earplug! I should invent the "sound-proof cheek rest cover" and retire on the earnings. Or, maybe DonnyFL could come up with something and silence both ends of the rifle.

The wildcat is bad but shoot a Vulcan, I thought I was developing tinnitus...nope just that annoying, PING ringing in my ear!

You might want to look up Ceekeeze stick on cheek pads. They probably have something that you can shape to fit. It is to raise your line of sight to center your eye to the scope so maybe get higher scope mounts if possible to compensate. They mold them out of sorbathane which is a special impact absorbing material . It probably would absorb the sound of your hammer as well. Tell them Accu-riser sent you to them. They are my competition in the cheek pad business. I don’t have anything to help you that would fit a Wildcat.
