Helpful Gear(Range Edition)

Lists everywhere!🤣
Lets sort them out a bit.
We all have our own gear preferences.
This is for relaxing range time. *not competing, casual target/plinking
When I go I usually take:
More than 1 slinger
Range table
Ammo
Bag rests
Targets(paper, metal, etc.)
Measurement tape wheel
Screwdriver and bit set
Phone
Smokes
Coffee/water
A snack or 2
...
🤔that's the staples really for me.
Some of those things stay in the vehicle(mainly targets)less to tote in and out of the house.
What all do you guys tote along for just a normal relaxing time?

Most of my shooting is in my back yard range so just me PCP, safety eye-lobes and ammo...😂. But for pesting at my friends place I pack much more, a laser rangefinder with slope is critical as we shoot mainly from high incline/decline spots. Also his place is at 4400 feet of elevation while I am at sea level so have to adjust my POI as ammo usually travels faster.

My 3 guns (Bobcat, Boss, Royale,.22, .30, .25 respectively), ammo for all, 45 & 60 minute tanks (for car), 15 minute tank in backpack, gun specific tool box, 2 bipods (9-13", 13-27") Caldwell Deadshot tripod & target board (for zeroing), coffee, water, cigarettes. Also in my backpack are binoculars & camo poncho. Belly pack with small tins of extra ammo, range finder, Leatherman, extra magazines. This stuff goes EVERY TIME! Sometimes shooting table & drum stool. I DO NOT travel lightly but after 61 years of hauling a drum kit around this is easy for me 👌

What range finder do you use? I think one would help me. Get tired of rolling up a 100ft tape multiple times🥴

I've had a $60 Simmons rangefinder that I bought 6 years ago. It's worked great for me all that time. I got tired of a 100 yd tape REALLY QUICKLY! You don't have to spend big money on one & I promise, you'll be glad you did! When I come across more tanks I'll let you know too.

I bought a cheap wheel measurement. Rolls on the ground and is actually very accurate for what it is and @$3 Flee market But you still have to walk it out to what ever distance up to 9999 FT. ,then again you need to place your target anyway .
P.S. does not work for hunting 😉😉😉

That’s what I did when setting out my targets. Then verified it with rangefinder. With how inexpensive measuring wheels can be, a serious target shooter should invest in one to not only add second hand reassurance of distance to target, but also to keep the rangefinder in check.
That’s what old school standby mechanical devices are for, to keep electronic/computerized devices in check, right?

That tape is more fact where them range finders being electronic can falter or somthing gives a misreading.

Like i joked above harbor got a 320' reel tape wirh metric and inch. One pull lays out 100y easy $18 and then apply coupons for cheaper thats hard to beat

Hook it to your fireing line one pull to 100y , set things up, and reel it in just one time pull to do it all .
