Help with Shoebox fix!

Shoebox.1614033117.jpg

I have an issue with my shoebox. Maybe someone here can help me with it. I am currently getting air from the bleed hole and foster fitting simultaneously. The pistons are fine. I know there is a plate in the back which probably holds some type of spring and ball detent, but I haven't taken it apart that far to see what the problem may be. Any help from others who have similar issues would be greatly appreciated.

What’s the best way to access that vent assembly? Did you unbolt the block out of the main housing first? Looks like a nice reach in there if you don’t.

I just took off the input fitting and then removed the block with the pistons all attached. That's the easiest way I found to do it. The only o-ring I can't get to is the one on the bottom of the block. I have a new leak and I think that's where the problem lies.

Yeah, I’ve got mine apart at the moment. The vent assembly is behind the retainer plate, correct? Also, I may put some RTV sealant on the bleed screw and back it out all the way to the button head stop. Then just use the bleeder on my filling tank from now on.

Yes. Remove the plate and you can get to the orings, etc. Depending on how dry your compressor air is and how much grease you use on the piston rods, you may be surprised to what you find there. 😱
