Hatsan Help with Hatsan Factor BP

First, Thanks for the warm welcome.
I just took delivery of a Hatsan Factor BP in 30 cal.
Out of the box, visually appealing, And has all the accessories intact.
Got to the point where I wanted to check for magazine clearance with several mounting options available.
Put a small finger smear of silicon O-ring grease on the magazine tension O-ring and tried to slide it in to no avail.
Tried the second mag and same situation. Way too tight!
Did a quick google and got the god-awful recommendation to slam it in with my hand?
Needless to say, that didn't appeal to me.
After studying how the barrel protrudes into the magazine slot/well,
it looks like the set screw that holds the barrel in place needs to be loosened and the barrel pulled forward just a smidge,
the magazine then installed, and the barrel push back for a snug fit before retightening the set screw.
Is my thinking sound or am I all washed up at 73. Please don't tell me I should have bought an FX, ( I already own one)
Your thoughts appreciated.

Yes Load lever full cocked.
And thanks Sleestak for the conformation.
Like the 2 -AT44-10 guns I own, Hatsans are never ready to go out of the box. To have this gun ready to go, proper crown, Magazine fitted, and Trigger adjusted would only take 30 min. or so. It's all about doing the bare minimum to get it out the door with maximum profit. This is the last Hatsan for me.
Ya all have a great weekend. Schools out here today so me and the boy are gonna go irradicate some sage rats!
