help with bad shooting Marauder

I have a new Marauder Field and Target .177 LW barrel. At 25 meters I get 1 and 1/2 inch groups. 50 yards much worse.
I just purchased a chrony and shot 20 times. I've attached a pic of the numbers.
Is tuning an issue? If yes where do I start?
Thanks

first shot being lower is an anomaly probably caused by the plenum being lower on air than the normal. This is normal on a lot of guns. I always dry fire my first shot after filling the gun. The string looks great! Throw out the first shot and the 14fps ES is bragging rights IMO. Some of the guys with $2000 rifles wish they could hold a string this tight.

You didn't say what ammo you were shooting. Mine shoots the jsb 10.34 like a laser. The other thing could be the scope. What brand, model? If it's a fixed power the accuracy could be the parallax.

You might try cleaning the barrel if you haven't already. However, I've shot guns out of the box and got the same accuracy with them throughly clean.

Give us a bit more info and maybe we can find a solution.

D12bn,

What brand and weight pellet are you using? If it's an inferior or off brand, that might be the root of the problem. You can also do a simple test. Unscrew the shroud completely and try it again. If the groups get tighter, it's a shroud issue. Also, you stated that you were shooting at 25 yards. Wind can affect pellet groups greatly, again, depending upon the pellet.

Excellent chrony results. I would agree with the above first make sure the barrel is clean next make sure you are using a pellet it likes. You may want to try try the JSB or Crosman domed pellets first as they seem to shoot well from many/most guns. I have read where a few of the shrouds were delivered off centered on the Marauders Also it is a new gun I would not worry about accuracy for the first couple hundred shots barrels seem to to do better after that.

Those velocity numbers are about as good as it gets. If everything else is OK, and that does cover a lot, I'd suggest you try some JSB .177 8.44 grain pellets. If your gun is capable of shooting good groups, and I'm willing to bet it is, those JSB's will put a smile on your face. I get mine at Pyramid Air.

Wally World Crossman 7.9's shoot absolutely abysmal in my Benjamin steel eagle gas ram rifle. I mean B, A, D, bad. With JSB's it's a night and day difference. I'd toss the gun if I could only get crossman ammo, it was that bad, "in my gun", others may say it works good, and I'm happy for them. To be honest, those same crossman pellets shoot OK in my Beeman R7, AKA HW30. Try the JSB's!!!

This is my second Marauder. The first shot perfect but had issues with low shot count and leaks. The replacement has good shot count but is not accurate. Used the same scope on both.

The first pellets I tried were JSB 8.4. Then 3 different Crosman pellets. And also air arms 10.4. Air arms are little better than the rest.

I have cleaned the barrel

Thanks

Crown at the muzzle OK when looked at with a good magnifying glass? If offset by just a little it will print different even with a minor variation of fps. If every shot was the exact same velocity it would not be a big deal, but if the final "chase" is off enough to be seen, you will have varying POI's with every few fps of difference. At least that is my experience.
