Help with a Beeman 1358 underlever

I just finished tuning a Beeman underlever. Actually pressed me. After tuning valve e hammer and springs she can pound 18.39g at 930. I shoot free hand so ability to quickly cock without having to pull from stock is better. They can be tuned quite well IMHO.
How hard was it to tune ? Was it pleasurable to shoot ? I’ve never owned a bull pup style before .

We needed a shop gun and I wanted it to be unregulated. Wanted a gun that could sit long periods of time in various temps and always be spot on. Had the Beeman in a cart several times but after owning a bunch of Chinaguns, it just made me nervous. Wound up with a Kral and after some work, because all of these type guns need help to reach their potential, I’m happy. With these type of guns, your standards and ability to work on them will dictate how happy you are.

I have a 1357. My only 177 PCP and not my first bullpup.
Didn't care for it much for a while. Wasn't very accurate, the trigger is very heavy and yes you have to lift it off your rest to rack another round.

I put a lot of pellets through it of different brands and weights and eventually it started to come around a bit. If I remember correctly AA 10.xxs were starting to group. When the cost of AAs went up I decided to look for something else, H&N Barracudas were starting to look good now too. I got the trigger much lighter and smoother and that helped a lot. I went to Crosman UM domes and they were shooting great now.
My gun is very accurate now, shooting cheap ammo and quiet too once I installed a moderator insert setup.
I like min a lot a lot now, It has killed a lot of starlings and hosps at 30- 40 yds.

I will say that what I do not like about it is working on it. It is a real pain in the but to go into and put back together.

There are some good reviews on YouTube about it. You might want to ask the question with PCP under lever in the subject line.
When you just throw out Beeman Under level's the 57,77 and 97's come to mind.

Thats about it on these kinda guns.

For somthing you can get at $200 -/+ I seen a lot of happy shooteres with it .

Its somthing if your intrested in and you buy it on the cheap. It looks to be a gun that you shoot it a lot get to know the quarks then give it you personal tlc to them needs and with a bit of luck you may make a silk purse out of a sows ear. With lick may just take a bit of tighten this polish that and a good cleaning of factory messes . Just a few hours of them things can shrink a group or just make it more enjoyable.

Bottom line is you to buy and try. If it dont work out ,well your not out 400+$ on somthing the risk is the same.
