Help using an I phone 6s to record thru the rifle lens

I've got an adaptor which positions the I phone behind the ocular on the scope. Seems to work fine. Only issue is with the phone camera itself. I can touch the I phone screen to focus and zoom but after don't so if I move the gun the least little bit the screen goes white and everything is out of focus. Seems like the focus and the light aperture both affected Touch the screen again and it will re-focus but again just move a fraction and the image is lost . Probably something stupid simple but it's got me stumped. This only happens when the camera is positioned on the rifle.

I’ve had that same problem. What corrected it for was, first make sure the camera mount is tight and camera lense relief is correct, 2nd don’t zoom in until parallax is set give it a moment when you change distance. I also turn on the HDR don’t set for auto but in the on position. Also if you have a thin reticle it can cause focus problems. Good luck!

Ok, Well How do you know the camera lens relief is correct. I got absolutely no instructions with my adaptor and I couldn't find a thing on the web. So I'm a little up the creek without a paddle. Any help advice appreciated. What does HDR mean. I see that on the screen. I found that my best efforts were made at the lowest power on the variable scope and then zooming in with the camera and of course the parallax not as critical on low power.

I've got another camera or two I'm fooling with be it would be nice to be able to use the I phone.

ITs a fotodiox adaptor. Seems pretty nice Amazon. I've requested instructions for the seller.

The adapter end by where your phone is placed should have a ring you can loosen and it will pull in or out just as you would place your eye closer or pull back to get a full clear view with no shadows. HDR High Dynamic Range, looking at yours I would make sure that the phone is placed correctly on the adapter so camera lens has a clear unobstructed view threw eye piece. I use a Discovery adapter but they look similar. Start with camera on photo to check the adapter. It’s really nothing more then a tube or extension of the scope

When you touch the screen to select where it focuses, hold the touch for a couple seconds. The area surround box should flash a couple times, and it will lock the focus and exposure, preventing the camera from trying to change the exposure and focus when the scene changes with gun movement.

I saw a wonderful improvement when I started locking focus and exposure. Just remember to zoom to your desired image size first, then lock things. Be aware the slightest touch will release the lock, and you'll have to re-lock again.
