Help tuning a marauder .177 with huma regulator

I have a marauder gen2 .177 I installed a huma regulator in it and put in a lighter spring. Now when tuning this gun what do you suggest to do with the velocity screw and hammer stroke. If i am understanding I would need to open the velocity screw all the way, say 4 1/2 turns so there is no restriction on the airflow. Now I am not understanding what I need to do with the hammer throw screw does it need to be backed all the way out so there is full throw or does the throw need to be shortened. I have been messing with it for a week now and can not get the velocity to be consistent. going by what i have read to be the optimal setting I can not add enough spring to the gun to get it to ever start dropping off. Example today running the spring preload in on the marauder you can only go around 7 mine will go 8 turns so i started all the way out and went one turn at a time. Here was my results. My regulator is set at 110 bar.

Turns in – Velocity
1-719
2-750
3-778
4-865
5-875
6-885
7-920
8-920

I had the hammer throw set at 6 1/2 turns in and set the hammer spring at 7 turns in here is the results I had.

Why is it going so low at times then back up I am just not understanding what is going on with this thing unless I got a bad regulator. Before the regulator it was getting around a 15 ES with very consistent shot string. I put the regulator in because I wanted to get rid of the bell curve and have a flat string. Any help you could provide I would very much appreciate.

"kkarmical"101 shots first and foremost is nothing to frown upon. Couple questions are you running stock porting? Also any type of debounce i.e. ssg or tss or anything?
I would try that 4- starting off at 865, what pellet weight are you working with?
yes stock porting no debounce but it is a new gen2 I thought they had a debounce already in them. I am using jsb 10.34 not sure what you mean about the 865 thanks for your reply.

I had one for a while set up like you had before I went fully .25 and I lightened the hammer by drilling holes lengthwise through it so not only was it lighter but vented the air in front of it through the hammer so the air does not build up in front and cushion the strike. Do it like this on a drill press (and eventually I bought one of these Hills to go even lighter) https://hillairgun.com/products/hill-hammer/

Or you could add o-rings against the face of the valve in the ... can't remember the mod name (maybe someone else remembers what that was called) and it worked great to debounce. Then I looked up SSG (spring guide) on the forums, built one (removed the previous o-ring) and with the light hammer found satisfaction with much easier tuning.

Look on YouTube for Travis Whitney's video on honing the Marauder air tube for easy hammer sliding

{Now I have several .25 Synrods with the new JSAR aluminum air tube so have to use a MDS lightweight hammer and my Huma regulators fit fine... and the lighter weight rifle handles and shoots fine too.}

I just got done adding a huma regulator to my gen 2 177,
im using crossman domed 10.5 pellets
my settings
reg set at 110 bar
hammer spring set at zero , all the way backed out
hammer set at 4 turns out
valve set at 2 1/4 turns out, note the locking set screw will change everything i started at 3 turns out
then put in the locking set screw and adjusted until i got the speed i wanted
im getting an average of 800fps
with a differance of 15fps
and 50 good shots
the groups are great i shoot at 20-30yds and getting 1/4 to 3/8 groups
