HELP! Too many choices and need assistance with purchase please. My head hurts.

Many smart and experienced folks here and I would like you help. I don't have enough posts for the classifieds yet but I'm looking to buy used or even new if need be. I'll try to keep it brief. I shoot out to 80 yards, targets as well as small game, squirrel, rabbit woodchuck. I currently have a .25 Synrod shooting JSB king 25g and am happy with its accuracy out to 45-50 yards but I want more WITHOUT tinkering or high maintenance. Id like a reliable, powerful, very accurate and at least as quiet as my stock synrod. I'm willing to add an lcd to whatever I purchase and expect too. With that being said, I want another.25 in the $1200-1500 range give or take, will that be enough? I've read so many posts about all different brands and styles that my head is now spinning. Thank you in advance for the help and I can answer more questions to zero in on the perfect one for me.

Taipan Veteran Long .25

...I knew some one would say that...I almost said that...LoL...

...the good part is there are a lot of good choices...

I can't believe I was the first one to say it and fully expected to see it mentioned already when I opened the thread. Yeah, I am biased but I've also had a few decent PCP's and have a bit of a clue. The KalibrGun Cricket BullPup in .25 is an interesting one for me too now that I've had a chance to enjoy my first bullpup the Taipan Vet. i am a bullpup fan!!!!!!!

Thank you so far guys. I do want a repeater. The Taipan I’ve heard mentioned multiple times but I’m not so sure I would like cocking back by my ear? Is that problematic or am I overthinking it?

I am pretty sure it won't be an issue. The Taipan Vet cocking can easily be switched from RH to LH if that helps. Any of that concern will QUICKLY be forgotten once you've shouldered it and shot it, for sure.

Do you want a full size real rifle, or a tactical bullpup...

I like the looks of the impact and maverick so to speak but in all honesty it’s more about being reliable and accurate at the end of the day.

A new Impact seems out of your price range, and is a aftermarket accessory/tuner giant,, for sure. Won't go so far to say its high maintenance, as many of the stories we read here are self inflicted from good intention tuning/mods. Might find a good shooting used one in our classified that almost fits in your budget

I have an older impact and it is a great rifle with so many tuning parameters/accessories its mind boggling. But the impact would be good for you if you want to tune for slugs at the longer ranges you've spoke of. Other than that, a Crown is my next rifle. Some say its a impact in classy clothing....😁 So many threads on the new, not yet proven durability, with not much real world Maverick long term experience, you can figure if that fits your needs/desires for yourself...

Or you could get the often recommend bulpup Taipan thats a great gun that seems to be more low maintenance/robust than the tuner guns. Although it is quite tune-able with a stock great trigger that adds to its accuracy imo. Used guns like the Russian EDguns and Brit Daystate, are also a high quality powerful accurate option that preowned/used might fit in your budget. The new Krals are also a great mid level gun...AGT Uragan,Vulcan, are also a high quality powerful accurate option

You also could get a Crosman Akela to try out the bullpup platform and see if you like it at 1/3-1/4 the cost. If you bought direct from Crosman with our 25% discount and free shipping Fri, probably could try it for a short while and if its not perfect for you, return it, or sell it here. Then you'd know if bullpups are your preferred platform.

In reality, a good example of any of the above mention guns, will serve you well and probably won't disappoint coming from a mRod...
