HELP! The Huma regulator for the FX Impact arrived yesterday.

I installed the Huma regulator, following the online instructions meticulously. When the carbon fiber bottle is attached the bottle pressure reads appropriately. However, the reg pressure reads approximately 100 bar and air escapes from here:

he says that the air escapes from the port because the reg adjuster screw is either too far in or too far out. 

When I make adjustments on the reg pressure screw -- increasing the pressure (after degassing, of course) -- the rapid air leak stops, but the reg manometer now shows 0 pressure.

Suggestions for resolving this problem will be appreciated.

Just checking, but did you put the little white disk in?

(Sorry, I just woke up and forgot the proper name for the disk)

The "valve disk" is in place.

I plan to and research and troubleshoot for a bit. Then if no solution I plan to look for some reputable pro to place the Huma and tune the rifle. Even at that point I have no regrets, as I have learned at lot tinkering with this rifle.

I do have 2 other Impact Xs to place with in the meantime.

Did you put a little silicon grease on all the o-rings?

I'm having difficulty coming up with a solution other than that unless one of your rings are bad

If you haven't given up... back the adjustment screw out an 1/8 of a turn at a time and see if the gauge responds. If it does, keep going in 1/8th turn increments and see if you can get it to settle near your desired / guessed reg setting. I'm kinda assuming the gauge was decently close before and didn't fail in these attempts by being over pressurized. If the gauge responds, the chrony will help you figure out if the readings are close.

If it doesn't respond.... you still have the fx reg to test the gauge with at least, or keep shooting with..... I've had gauges fail by being over pressurized.

Have you shot the gun over the chrony to see what it is doing? is it consistent? have you checked your reg gauge in the back to see if it still works? I've had gauges go bad on me before.

The culprit appears to be the small o-ring on the regulator piston:

In this condition the rifle would not hold pressure. The air bleed rapidly from the port ---->

I have replaced the o-ring and re-inserted the regulator. I am reluctant to attempt filling the carbon fiber bottle for fear of destroying my last o-ring of this size, at least until I get a diagnosis of the cause for this displacement and destruction of the regulator piston o-ring.

Any ideas.

Yes Val, I did apply silicone lubricant to the o rings each time the reg was inserted. When the reg manometer would not register any pressure I pulled the reg and found the o-ring had moved to the portion of the piston that holds the Belleville Springs.

This last time when air went straight from the fill port----> bottle ----> out through the port pictured above, the o-ring was damaged as pictured.

No, I have not been able to fire the rifle. I either had no air on board or no regulator pressure.

Did you fix it? What was the problem?

I sent the rifle to Ernest Rowe at FX USA in Wilmington(?), NC. An O-ring was blown out causing the leak whenever 100psi was placed on the regulator.

While the rifle was there I also had it tuned to 70fpe.
