Tuning Help Please Wildcat jammed up bad

I would probably still own my wildcat as well as my impacts if the double loading wasn’t an issue. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to integrate a anti double load feature into any airgun that uses self indexing magazines without some sort of inertia system like game uses. This just means more places for failure (as you’ve seen in those gamo systems). Unfortunately I think the only way to safely use these rifles is to build muscle memory to remove the mag when decocking.

Yep, that is exactly what I do.
  • Bolt back
  • Mag out
  • Decock
At least on the Impact, you can also feel if the gun is cocked by carefully pulling the cocking handle back to around the halfway point. You do it a few times and you learn the feel, you can check without indexing the mag and double loading. Helpful for a quick check on the gun's status. That's actually where I leave the handle when making the gun safe, as a visual confirmation that I validated the decock status. Handle forward could be cocked or uncocked. Handle back is definitely cocked.

A cocked PCP is a dangerous PCP.
