Help needed. FX Dreamline velocities move opposite to the Power Wheel?

Also try to turn down hammer spring even more and shoot 10.65 grain pellets at 880-890 FPS and see what speed is the most accurate.

Like I said before 110 BAR and 18-19 FPE looks like is the sweat spot for most 177 pellet , but I'm sure some of them like to be shoot slower or faster.

B

I will try that this evening, although I am not sure how much room I still havbe to reduce the hammer spring. Based on my experience last night you may well be right about the pressure and speed preferred by the .177 pellets!

I agree with B. Its evident from your strings that there's still too much hammer spring.

Also don't hang up on to extreme spread to much ,it got me in to trouble little bit lately, 20 FPS ES at 50 yards it's only 0.2"

For example my Steyr LG 110 can shoot 0.5" groups at 50 yards with CPH 10.5 and ES 24 FPS (I know its bad for Steyr ,still working on it) but with JSB 10.3 and 13FPS ES over 1" groups

You just need to find the best pellet/speed for your gun, easier said then done but that's where the fun is.

Yes, I think that your are all correct about still having too much hammer spring. the issue is that the hammer spring is becoming a bit hard to turn further (as in its beginning to get quite stiff). Still, I’ll try some more, probably tomorrow.

B, I take your point on the ES. I may just be spoiled, but my Impact and my Crown, with the right pellet, can give some simply incredible Extreme Spreads, as in 0.4% of average velocity. In general I like to see my ES below 2%, but I can’t argue with small groups.

Like I said earlier up your regulator to 110 or even 120 and see where your speed is at each HS setting. Dial HS down until your Max is at max speed, pretty simple.

like others have said .177 is so small it needs higher burst of air to get moving than .22. You can also experiment with the transfer port and put it on .25 and see if it helps with speed, to increase efficiency you can dial down the HS one setting. BUT you should get well over 900 even with monster redesign at 120 bar reg and max HS. You are almost there, just increase reg which doesn’t need degas even.

So, I thought I would follow up on my Dreamline Issues, which have been essentially solved with help from the good folks here at AGN.

I followed up on you advice and adjusted the reg up slightly (approx. 115) and backed out the hammer spring as far as I can without really trying to bend my Allen key. I am now pretty happy with where I am shooting the JSB Monster Redesigns 13.4 gr.

On PW = 5 average FPS is 889, 4 = 888, 3 = 870, 2 = 870, 1 = 859

When I get the time I’ll check it out at Max and at Min, but I would expect somewhere around 900 FPS at Max. It is also laser accurate once again at these speeds with the redesigns.

Very interesting that fx made something that people wanted (adjustability) but at the same time, it can so easily be fugged up by the same people who wanted this adjustability. I can see how people can dislike (or fear) fx just because of lack of proper information on how to tune.

I do agree somewhat (i.e. I can see that some people would be afraid of trying it). The good thing for me is that one can usually go back to the starting point (IF you kept a record of the settings) so it shouldn't really hurt to try. In this case I was not the original owner, plus I had changed calibers from a .25 to a .177, and wanted to be able to go back and forth.

In general though, one of the things that makes FX airguns so very attractive to me (in addition to the fact that they are so damned good and shoot so accurately) is the ability to quickly switch calibers and adjust the power.

But yeah, it can get complicated pretty quickly.
