Help Me Spend My Money

Hey everyone. I'm looking to acquire an older 10 meter air rifle. Something along the lines of a FWB300 or Diana 75 etc. I'd even consider a ssp if parts are readily available. Can anyone recommend other models that would fall into that category? Also, any tips on tracking down said air guns? Obviously I'll be checking the classifieds from time to time as well as watching Gun broker. I'd really like to acquire at least one nice air rifle to shoot in my garage over the winter. This year has already got me going stir crazy and I need an outlet. Thanks!

There is a FWB150 on GB now, and a Anschutz 250 on flea bay now, a 250 went last week on GB. I think most folks would think the FWB300 is best bang for the buck? I happen to like LG55!

I would go for a FWB150 or 300 or 300s that has documentation that it had been recently serviced/professionally gone through/resealed/rebuilt. They are easy to cock and very quiet and a joy to shoot and has more power than most 10 meter any gun any power plant. They can also easily accept scopes for true backyard mini sniping out to 50+ yards they are that accurate and same can't be said about other 10 meter guns.

I have had the FWB150, FWB300, and an HW55T.

Between all of them, for informal shooting I find the HW55 the most fun. It's easier to load, lighter weight, quieter at the shot, and very simple and very accurate.

The FWBs are amazing, and I still have the 300. The triggers are excellent and so is the accuracy. The stock is more sophisticated and they fit most people well. The negatives for the FWB to me is the "clack" they make upon firing and the fidgety loading compared to the HW55. Also, they are harder to cock than the HW55 IMO.

Either of these would serve you just fine for your uses I think. If you were competing, a SSP would be the way to roll. Id put more faith in the spring powered guns for being most reliable for a home shooter.

One thing to consider with either of these is make sure they have been refreshed at some point, as they are all getting pretty antique nowadays.
