Help me pick a Big Bore

I ended up sending money for that Extreme .457 in the chassis. It's the 24" and I'll probably put a folding stock adapter on it to keep it compact. Anything over 40" is just too much for carrying and blind hunting anymore. To use the Hammer I had to leave it propped up on the bench and sticking out the window of my blind.

For anyone interested.

Extreme Big Bore .457 with 24" (carbine) barrel and Ronin. The Extreme barrel adapter is indeed M18x1.

Factory (heavy) spring yields a string something like 750-700-650 with a 440gr slug and 4500 charge. That's the only slug weight I tested with the factory spring.

I put a Century 72056 spring in it and the strings are something as follows:

240s @ 4300: 824, 860, 836

240s @ 4600: 767, 802, 850, 844, 813, 762

265s @ 4300: 812, 833, 810

I did not record ending PSI. But you can see with this spring and a slightly elevated charge that a bit of a bell curve is possible, and respectable, at nearly 400 FPE from the carbine. It will stack 3 at 50 with follow-ups. Yet to really stretch it out but I'm confident it will suffice for Texas' 215 FPE minimum hunting requirement.

All depends on what your using it for? If its hunting lets say bear, huge boar or any of the largest animals on earth. I would go with AEA BIG BORE 35,45,50 And any of the ZUSE calibers, the 72 cal is the king of power! it holds the world record 3000 fpe. AEA has reset the bar in power and as Rick Ulster and many others are finding out,, they shoot very well also. without spending a ton of money or having to have it modified.(FULL 4K VIDEO) AEA ZEUS .72 CAL MAKES 3000 FPE! BRAND NEW AMAZING 12 GA LEAD FROM LUCKY 7 AIR! 2021.

So much to correct in this post, ...people should not spread missinformation.

1st of all the AEA .45 and 50 aren't that special, many Big bores in that caliber have the same power and the Texans just about double them, so if you want big, big power in .45 and .50 go Texans,....they are the king.

2nd and more importantly lets debunk next piece of missinformation, what the poster called ZUSE is actually the Zeus, and yes comes in .72 cal and now in .58 and yes they are monsters, but the ,72 does ............NOT make 3000 FPE !!!!!!!!!

Lets not spread BS, the Zeus is a 1500-1600 FPE gun, lets keep it real folks ;) ;)
