Help Choosing a Rangefinder

I have used Leica, Nikon, Bushnell and Chinese cheapies side by side and under 300 yards there isn't much reason to spend over $100. The accuracy was +/- 1 yard between all the units. The one thing I do like about the Leica is the readout is an illuminated led which makes it the obvious choice for low light. Instead of buying an expensive unit, I have bought a couple and leave them with the guns so that I am never forgetting or looking for my one. My brother got a $70 Halo from Amazon on sale that does angle calculations and ranges as accurate as anything. They mostly look like they are all made in the same factory. Save your money and buy whatever sub $100 unit strikes your fancy for features. If you are going to be using it for double duty, such as Elk hunting, or mountain sheep then you should just step up and get a good one. Like our airguns, the good ones cost more for a reason, but as far as airgunning goes (about 300 yards, tops) the cheapies work fine.
