Hello and help! (please)

Howdy, everyone!

My FIL recently bought a Gamo Varmint and that started me itching for my own springer rifle. After a few days lurking to get a crash course, I decided I’d love to have either a Weirauch HW30s or Beeman R7. As you learned lot already know, they’re out of stock everywhere. Could anyone point me in the right direction to buy one? I don’t mind clicking a PA or AOA pre-order button if that’s my only option, but I’d rather be shooting than waiting. Any help (or suggestions for suitable alternatives) would be appreciated. My needs are 1) small enough for my 8yo daughter to use with me, 2) real wood and metal, 3) springer preferred, 4) good enough for plinking in the back yard, and 5) under $400.

This is a fantastic resource. I was able to soak in a lot of info and zero in on a choice pretty quickly, thanks to all of you.

Stay with the R7 or HW30. Don’t be impatient. You’ll be glad you did.

Try Mike at Flying Dragon and ask if he has any R-7 in.177 left. He had them on his blog site, but not store site

Thanks for the link. I tried to order and they had an error with my shipping/billing address. I’ve emailed them for help.

I do slightly prefer the checkering on the HW30S to the R7, but will happily buy an R7 from Flying Dragon (or elsewhere) if Krale doesn’t work out.

I would check to see if the lifetime warranty applies to Weihrauch guns that are not purchased from Airguns of Arizona since it appears as though they are the lifetime warranty service center for that brand.

Although Mike at flying dragon does a good job tuning his guns, the HW 30 shoot great without a tune. I’ve seen a few Hw 30s and 50s and also Beeman Springers on eBay lately that were in great shape.

UPDATE: I got the issue sorted at Krale and completed my order for the HW30S. I’ll post a report when it arrives.

JSBs in 7.33, 7.87, or 8.4 gr is a good place to start with pellet selection for your .177 HW30. Mine like the lighter RWS R10 wadcutters the best for close in plinking.

 My HW 50 shoots the H&N 8.64 A little better than the JSBs.But we all know that every gun can be a little different in which pellet it likes the best.If you bought it from Krale ,You Should be getting it in four days. That’s the way it usually is.

Good choice deciding to go with the German made gun-you won't be disappointed and it will also maintain it's value for a longer period of time.

The gun arrived yesterday. The scope (Hawke AirMax 2-7x32), rings, and pellets are still on the way. I have to say the HW30S seems extremely well built. I won’t cock and fire it until I have ammo.
