Heads up

Starting early, so watch your step or where you swim. Big boy was sucking on a catfish. I usually let them slide off, but too many grandkids down this way now. Nice, and not so nice are out.

Kind of a surf and turf meal all in one shot! Nice!

I have eaten rattlesnake fried(southern thang) at our wild game supper. It’s nice looking white meat and not bad. ‘Proverbially’ a lot like chicken. Snakes are fairly easy to clean. The entrails were nicely bagged and strip out easily leaving a ‘tenderloin’ type piece of meat. I really don’t personally know of anyone who has tried other varieties other than survivalist on TV.

Good call and nice shot! Keep the good ones around though like king snakes and corn snakes, etc. Always remind yourself and your buddies before walking the woods to be aware of possible snakes. It's easy to forget in the excitement of getting out. This tip paid off for me and my buddies when a rattlesnake was alongside a trial we were walking on. None were thinking about that but me. Glad I put the thought in their heads. RIP serpent.
