Likewise! The holdovers at close distances always befuddle me! You're not alone...You're not kidding! The close shots, under about 12y, are the ones I screw up the most. This time, I used my range finder and Strelok. Here is the part I left out, and probably the reason I posted in the first place, this little rabbit did the biggest and most energetic death dance than just about any kill that I have made on anything. And it lasted for a while! When I finally walked over I was expecting to see a grazing shot, instead I was trying to figure out what I was looking at because all of the normal stuff was gone.
I am really relieved that this happened this way. I had to put down my pet several years ago and I didn't take any chances with that, a firearm, barrel touching, right on the back of the head, and I got a huge death dance out of that too, that bothered me until yesterday. I thought that maybe somehow I missed the brain. After seeing the aerobatics that this bunny did with absolutely no brain left, I can finally let that incident go.
Awesome shot with your Leopard and great CLEAR pic! 200 megapixels....holy moly....that might take a couple days to upload, that's A LOT OF DATA....It's taking me about a half hour, trying to get this picture loaded on here due to it being a two hundred megapixel image. So I screenshot it instead lol. A great way to start the morning! 38yd shot

The JSB KO MK3 are literally the bomb. Same experience on CA ground squirrelsI took a headshot today on a bunny at only 8y away, using 10.03gr JSB KO Mk3 slug @980fps. The result shocked even me. I would not take a picture of it. It took me a few seconds to understand what I was looking at when I retreived it. The bunny had been looking away from me, and I put the .177 slug right into the back of his head. It literally blew the top of his head off, right down to the tip of his nose. I did not think an airgun slug could do that kind of damage. It looked like I had used a .17HMR. WOW! At least it never knew what hit him. We've got way too many.
Same goes for iguanas and starlingsThe JSB KO MK3 are literally the bomb. Same experience on CA ground squirrels
Is that Bob the cat?! They are fascinating looking creatures! Was it killing your farm animals?Impact MKII, .25 700mm with a 33.5 grain nielsen at 950fps. 47 yardsView attachment 589123
Yeah. She had killed two of my best layers already and I put up a predator call because I thought it was a fox. She came lurking back to the scene of the crime at about midnight and I put that slug into her noggin. Second shot went right through her chest and buried itself in my chicken run wall. It was unnecessary, but I didnt want her getting back upIs that Bob the cat?! They are fascinating looking creatures! Was it killing your farm animals?
The second shot is understandable. Sucks to have to take its life away, but it is what it is when it comes to protecting your livestock.Yeah. Thank you bud! Here's moreclearly, either talking to you or posting pictures of my qyarry has made the big onese come out. Either way, thank you!
The notos had enough power to knock the big guys, but not enough to take them out. So I had to use the thirty to finish the job.
From top to bottom 31 yd, 43 yd, 20 yd.
