In the Hawke scopes only the Air max and the 30mm tube dia scopes are HP airgun rated.

Thanks for the info. I have read that the TX200 is really smooth (Not a HP springer) so I thought it might be ok.

From the people at Hawke themselves, they don't recommend Vantage scopes being used on springers over 12fpe. Everything else they make, Endurance, Sidewinder, Frontier and especially the Airmax, which was designed and built for springer use will work just fine. They're also pretty quick at replying to emails if you have any questions:

That said, I've had Vantage scopes on at least half a dozen springers, none under 14fpe and while your mileage may vary, I never had a problem with any of mine or the Airmax (I own 7) or the now discontinued Panorama's (I own 3).

Thanks a bunch. I think I will use one of those Diana type recoil mounts and hope for the best. I have sunk too much money into to many hobbies. A $400 scope is just not an option for a p/t plinker like myself.

I'm with you DAS, high priced scopes for plinking just isn't in my best interest budget either,,, as long as the scopes I CAN see from perform for me.

FWIW, every one of the Airmax and Panorama scopes I have were bought on sale. My 4 Airmax 4-12x40 AO scopes and 3 Panoramas, 2 4-12x40 AO IR and a 5-15x50 AO IR all came from Dvor and none were more than $180 delivered. The 2 Airmax scopes I got on a deal from Jeff at Trenier Outdoors when the new AMX reticles first came out and I got the pair way back then for a touch over $300 delivered.
