Hawke sidewinder 30 tac 6.5x20x42

I recently got into air rifles and bought a Benjamin discovery to try out a pcp. I bought the tko muzzle break, hobby alliance trigger, and extra barrel band. Shooting it has been a lot of fun but was having trouble finding a scope that was any good. Started with a centerpoint 3x9x32 for $59 then a centerpoint 4x16x40 for $65 then a leapers 2x16x44 for $250. Then I saw that buds gun shop was selling the hawke sidewinder 30 tac 6.5x20x42 for $315 and bought it. Got it about 2 weeks ago and could not be any happier with it. The whole sight picture is clear unlike the leapers. The side focus is very easy to use and accurate. The reticle is very fine which I like. The price was good and thought I would pass it on.

Thanks for sharing. There's a huge message here for other people purchasing their first (air)gun: don't work your way up through a series of scopes until you get something decent. Hopefully you managed to recoup some of the cost of the centerpoint 3x9x32 and 4x16x40, and then leapers 2x16x44.

Your experience is quite common; I did something similar, but with less iterations. People new to the hobby don't realize how important it is to shell out $ on a decent scope, at least 50% of the cost of your gun, but for a less expensive PCP perhaps a lot more. I hope the sidewinder keeps you happy for some time to come.
