I don't know how it would be physically POSSIBLE to swap the function of the elevation and windage turrets to the wrong knobs.. I lived in an apartment once where the hot and cold water were piped backwards on the bathroom sink..

Kinda had me wondering if the giy mounted the scope with h the windage pointing up instead of on the side right and the elevation was on the side left.

I do have scopes that the turret rotation is reversed between them but.....lol

Too bad no pictures of the " defective" scope qnd a show and tell..
