I was reading reviews right and left that were mentioning that it is made in China. Recently thought, I stumbled upon other sources that say it is made in Japan. Anyone owns one and would like to chime in?

Mine are the newest version. They are made in China. I never would've guessed, the quality is very good.

Tested the FRONTIER 30 FFP 4-20x50 along side others in the same price range. It is made by Miao Optics who is also an OEM for Burris, Hawke and Vortex out of China. I felt the Hawke had nice glass, not WOW glass for the price of <=$900. Was bright and had fairly good IQ through the zoom range with minimal QA and a descent eye box for a quick cheek weld. I did however appreciate it's lightweight factor that crushes the competition in this category. There are so many variables that come together to make up "the right scope for me". As we all like to share, scopes are a very personal addition to our shooting systems and my eyes and feature needs will be very different than yours. All this being said, Log what your particular needs are and compare them to other shared scope data and experiences to come up with your own "ideal". Hard work.

Depending on the many variables as I mentioned in a previous post, the order would change. This would be my order based on Glass Alone for My Eyes. The differences between them is not HUGE, but just enough to prioritize likes and dislikes at the smallest level. Just my observation. Enjoy your search.

The glass (IMO) is better on the Meopta Optika6 than the Athlon BTR or ETR series and the scope is slightly cheaper. I would not discount the Meopta 3-18x50 FFP in Z-plus illuminated for $675. It's an outstanding scope. Plus you actually have a chance of finding a Meopta in stock somewhere.
