Hawke airmax?

MOA turrets and Mil reticles are outdated at best. They are for people who don't know any better. You want MOA-MOA or MIL-MIL so that things can be easily and accurately ranged by size with your scope should the desire or need arise.

They don’t have RZ turrets, and the reticle has a tree, so I don’t think they expect you to click for anything except sighting in. And I’m reluctant to trust any inexpensive scope to have good enough tracking to click fir elevation.

Any idea the indexing mag on the 2-7x and 3-9x?

I’ve never encountered a scope before that has a SFP ranging reticle indexed for a magnification outside the scope’s range. That kinda blows my mind.

Anyway, I ordered the 4-12 with rings.

I had a UTG that I put on a .22 powder burner and it wouldn’t hold zero. That’s the only airgun scope I’ve tried. I’m hoping this Hawke can handle the recoil of a Sumatra .25 as it is about as powerful as a .22 powder rifle.

Probably a larger range of "worst ever" to "excellent" will be encountered with scope opinions than with most other things. You only have to read through any scope opinion post to see such. I have ONE Hawke Airmax. Haven't purchased a second because I prefer other features in a scope but the Airmax I have is clear and functions just as designed. It is far from the "worst" scope in my opinion.

+1 To Hawke scopes, I just returned another big name scope to get a fourth Hawke scope, I ordered another Hawke Airmax 30SF Compact in 6-24X50 AMX IR directly from Hawke Sport Optics to mount on my FX Crown, my other is on my FX Dreamline Tac, I love my Hawke scopes, all of them, great eye relief, include side focus wheels and at least bikini caps with most models... Sunshades, metal flip up caps available for most of their scopes too if you want those accessories... I really like the capped target turrets on my Airmax models... I buy all my own scopes and offer honest opinions...

I cannot comment on handling recoil, but I have never had a problem with any of my Hawke scopes holding zero, on 22 and 25 PCP rifles...

Just my .02
