This post discusses two topics related to Hawke Optics.
First, I had a 6x24x50 Airmax on my TX200. After many thousands of shots, the combo started to drift between groups. I would get it firing into a nice tight group, then it would all of a sudden change POI by plus or minus 3/8". I would reset it and get four or five shots and it would change again. I called Hawke, they gave me an RA and I sent it back last Thursday. Yesterday (Wednesday) I get a new scope in the mail, no questions asked. I put it on the rifle and today everything is back to perfect. I shot 50 shots through it at a single line intersection as the target and had a total group size of less than .45 inch. This is my third experience within a decade of nearly identical, immediately responsive, and positive service. This is why I won't deviate from Hawke Optics.
Second, I purchase two Hawke Sidewinder 6x24-56 FFP scopes this week from Indiana Airguns. I removed a Hawke 8-32x56 SF30 Airmax from my AA S510 .22 and installed one of them (saving the other for a new RAW HM1000X LRT .25 that is on order from Ken Hicks). I own four of the Airmax scopes and they have been absolutely terrific, with zero complaints. However, it is like stepping into the next century with the Sidewinders. The clarity is amazing compared to the Airmax scopes. The reticle is so much easier to see on the FFP scope. The adjustments are tight and spot on. Plus they come with great lens covers, illuminated reticle, and anything else one might need. Finally, the parallax is adjustable down to as little as 7.5 yards - perfect for air rifle use at any range.....
I highly recommend the sidewinder series, but of more importance, Hawke in general.
