Have you found that “ One Airgun”?

TX200 tuned to 10.4 FPE .177 IF a Thief entered my home and said " you can keep one " this is the one i would choose . then the thief would smile and take it away . But i would still smile and turn to pick up my #1 TX200 .177 tuned and polished to exactly 10.4 FPE Knowing the thief only got # 2 choice .

If you mean slow my shooting down and go for better accuracy, that is what I was doing with that group - each shot was taken with great care to try to get the smallest 19 shot group I could, to show what the gun can do. It was not fast shooting, and certainly not a semi-auto mag dump - that would have been at least twice the size, maybe even bigger.

If you mean that those results are more than good enough and to just slow down and accept them, I pretty much have - at least in terms of seeking another gun to replace it. It has been a full six months with no other gun purchased, so that's a good sign. ;) That said, I have commissioned one of Troy Hammer's 3 groove barrels to fit it, to see if I can eek out a bit more accuracy.

That, after all, is pretty much my goal - not just minute of squirrel for pesting, but finding the best accuracy I reasonably can while still loving the gun/platform. Once you have experienced better accuracy - even though it only shows up on paper - it can be hard to leave things alone. For example, this is what I can get out of my Daystate Air Ranger. If I could get that out of my K1 it would be pretty much a mike-drop moment; I'd pretty much stop looking for anything better at that point . . . then I would just need to work on illusive group where I don't "lose" one or two shots outside the main cluster, as has always happened, like in this photo.

Well, I was actually referring about this piece of the projector but yes I can see that you did a very good job with the actual operating of the weapon like I said that already looks great but that’s just my standards. I guess yours are much much higher, please continue your pursuit and let me know if you ever find either of the perfect speed or the perfect pallet cause I can tell your technique it’s already very good.

So, I have been on sort of a quest. It has been in the search of that one gun. You know the one you would keep if you had to get rid of all your other airguns.
It has been an expensive quest for me so far have I bought and sold about 25 pcp’s and seven springers looking for the one. I currently have 15 pcp guns all higher end guns. I have had $800.00 guns up to $2700.00 guns but I just can’t seem to find the one gun I would keep above all others.
My question to you all is have you found that “one gun” ? The one you would keep if you could only have one.

As I write this today I still am torn between four of my current pcp’s. Not sure which I would choose and would not be sure if any are the one. Maybe there is still one out there I have not thought to try. I do lean heavily towards PCP airguns. Springers are just not for me.

So if you have found that one for you post a photo here and if you want share why it is the one for you ( springers welcome). I am hoping there is something I have not tried yet that could be the one for me.

I know this question has been asked before but it seems like there are constantly new airguns being manufactured and released.

EDIT 1/18@ 9:45am.

I have most of the popular FX airguns, Taipan, Edgun, Airmaks, Brocock and have had many other brands. But as my collection stands right now I think it would be between my Taipan Mutant and my Crown MKII with the Crown having the advantage. I would love to put some Tung oil on that it's such a nice color.

Search the forum for this same question being asked quite a few times before. There are pages of answers/suggestions. It's so subjective too. What checks MY "one gun" box might not check YOURS. If I HAD to pick one it would be one of these (FX Bobcat .22, Royale 500 .25, Boss .30 front to back) The ONE would probably be the Royale. View attachment 529840
Darn those are some long moderators.

I have had the same problem in mind for some time now. Circumstances last year forced me to sell my entire collection, so this year, i vowed to only buy one gun, and stay that way. I use my guns purely for pesting, and no farther than 75yds. My criteria other than that is easy to repair, built rugged, accurate, and cheap ammo. I settled on my evol mini. Hate that I sold my first. I now have another. If it’s anything like my original, it’s the only gun I’ll ever need.
Can I see a pic of the evol mini.
I learn better that way. OldVet wants to see.

This side of small teething problems, i am very happy with my epic airguns two rifle.
Actually for a brand new rifle i have never felt this way before, my Maverick was initially a nightmare and looking back i should have sent if back.
My old Cyclone though, always been bang on, so also love that, but it is ancient technology and not able to do what i like to do these days.

I am amazed the Two can get into such a small case considering it is a conventional design and 700 mm barrel, so big fan of the folding tacti cool stock.
Also like the CZ barrel and the accuracy i get, though i do wish there was a .177 barrel revolution, not least for us slug whores.

Okay i was also happy about my Vulcan 3, but its internal regulator and hard to reach hammer adjuster soon ruined that, but otherwise not much i can falter it for.
Pics if you can . Thanks

I will never get rid of my Veteran 1 shorty .22. I bought it used 8 years ago and it has been flawless. No leaks, no POI shift, no first shot low, no nothing, just absolute airgun perfection. Yeah, it has rear cocking, big deal! I got it out the other day after sitting in my safe for weeks, first shot dead center at 50. Oh, and did I mention, the trigger is fantastic!

Difficulty choosing between my Taipan Vetran long and my Taipan Vetran tactical 700mm 2. Two groups shot with each one. The tighter group was with the Vetran long shooting JSB Hades 8 shot group. The other was the Vetran 2 shooting JSB KO slugs. 10 shots. Both shot at 81 yards.
