I like the fact that they are offering a kit for those able to do the repair. If I owned one I would be excited to do the repairs. If forced to send it back, I would be less than thrilled.

Macavity Arms issuing an important service bulletin for all owners of the Macavity Arms MA2 PCP air rifle, based on recent findings regarding long-term reliability and potential safety risks under certain usage and environmental conditions. Please note that this is not an optional upgrade but a mandatory safety service.

Immediate Action Required: Please Degas Your Rifle​

Due to the MA2’s regulator valve seal structure and gauge port sealing method, there is a possibility that, under extended use or in specific environmental conditions, component wear may occur faster than originally expected. This can potentially lead to:
– Minor air leaks
– Abnormally high regulator pressure
– And in extreme cases, excessive pressure may cause air cylinder failure and pose a safety risk.

For your safety, we ask all MA2 users to degas their rifles immediately and keep them unpressurized until further servicing. Please refer to the following video for proper degassing procedure.

This recall is only for production versions with a regulator gauge. If you have a pre-production Genesis model, without a regulator gauge, your gun is fine and you don't have to do anything. This is coming straight from Macavity. I emailed them today and asked because I have the Genesis model.

For owners where your MaCavity seems to be working well, please just send it in. Trust me on this - I've seen the results of the failure this recall is about, and it can be lethal.

Anyone have a phone number they will answer? The one in their manual just goes to a full voicemail box. I'm a new owner, just received the rifle a few days ago and have a total of 2 shots fired. Starting to get a bad feeling. Anyone know what the self repair involves?

This is your call but is a return for refund a possibility given you only received it? And now it is a full-on required recall? Of course, this is only if you would like a return.

I think this is a sign of a good company who has made a good quality product for a very fair price! I own the .25 caliber and .30 caliber Long versions and they are my favorites!

I just submitted my service upgrade kit request. In the past, I had a problem with the trigger mechanism on my .30 cal and they were pretty prompt in sending me a replacement mechanism. Hopefully, they will be just as prompt in this matter.

Id like to see pics of the replacement and then the original. I'm curious about the failure mode and how bad the failure is if we have and pics of that.
