I recently acquired a few guns from a relative andMy knowledge of air guns is minimal so I could use a little help. I know it's an R1 but how can I find out its age and value? Is the scope original and does it add to its value? Lastly if I decide to sell what would be the best way to go about that? Thanks in advance for any information you can provide

on the underside of the barrel you will see the serial number Where the barrel meets the receiver (compression tube)
input the the number in this data bank and you will get the year of manufacturing… probably early to mid 80‘s is my guess. As for the value… that’s always debatable. better minds here can help. Good luck

It is a Beeman labelled model HW-80 manufactured by Weihrauch in the 1980s The scope is made Hakko (Japan). As Joe says, value is debatable. Beeman was retailer of other folks products and never really made airguns. However his self-promotion and mild modification of these products ( in this case the american style stock) has led some to believe that his is a superior product and they can command higher prices than the original models. As with all airguns, value is what someone is willing to pay. Caveat emptor.

Gun looks like it wasnt taken great care of can see rust on barrel etc. This will greatly effect the value especially if there is pitting which there looks to be. Its basically a beater air rifle that would make a good squirrel hunting gun etc if it hasnt any internal damage. Beeman scopes are fairly desirable by some who want their guns original, I prefer newer scopes.
As said gun is worth what the market bears which for springers anymore is not a lot even for the higher end ones.
