First, like to say hello. Brand new here. Haven’t been on any AG forums since the old Yellow days, so forgive me if I didn’t follow any protocol for new members intro somewhere. Ok, so, have two Hatsans, 95 and 125, and both of these darn things went bad in succession based on age. Newer went bad after the older. Due to being busy, both were stored for multiple months at a time without being shot. Both stored pretty much horizontally on a rack, a position I thought would be ideal. Prior to them being stored, they both shot right on par with specs. 28 and 20 ft/lbs. Suddenly, both started shooting much weaker, noticeably easier to cock, one having lost half of the effort. So, back to my question, is that a common thing with Vortex pistons, going bad without regular use? Are newer pistons improved? I’m gonna look at getting some new pistons from Hatsan, but just wondering if there’s any consensus on them. Both guns are out of warranty, but in brand new condition otherwise, so would like to fix them back up. Got plenty of other AG’s to keep me shooting, but just can’t stand having any of my stuff out of commission. My pride won’t let me! Lol! Thanks for any input.
