HATSAN SAD

I'm not an expert on air rifles. But the first 2 pcp's I bought were a hatsun flash and hatsun flashpup in 2021. Bought both from Pyramid Air. The flash leaked less than 2 day's after filling. No I didn't pay extra money for the 10 for 10 from Pyramid Air. I called Pyramid Air and they promptly provided me with hatsun's phone number. I called and was provided a shipping label mailed it to them. Received it back fairly quickly. I don't remember exactly but within 2 weeks . The real problem I think is large corporations not respecting they're customers. I deal with Midway quite a bit as I reload and shoot powder burners a lot. They have the same policy with black powder pistols. Deal with the company it's made by not us. Even though we sold it to you. This seems to be the mantra of big buisness. Stockholders and profits above customers or product quality control. Well I could give several examples. Most people know. Yet the public continues to buy and accept this treatment. So if I have a choice of dealing with a smaller company and pay more I will. Examples for pcp's would be Georgia airguns. You call and talk to the owner. Who takes pride in his work. There's also a couple powder burner companies family owned who answer the phone and take pride in their products. Maybe not always perfect but correct the problem. While other large companies skimp on quality control. And use the customers as quality control. This is a much larger problem than hatsun. I'll get off my pulpit now. Much different world for consumers than when I grew up. Just saying 😁

If I spend $1000 on a new rifle I darn well expect it to function properly out of the box. If I spend $200 for a new one, same expectation. Since I found this place I’ve learned a tremendous amount of useful knowledge and have seen enough bad stories about Hatsan that I just don’t want one. Do some research and don’t get in a hurry, you’ll learn a lot about what not to buy.

Buying from a reputable, time tested vendor is a big part of the purchasing decision. No “passing of the buck”… The vendor has much responsibility in vetting the products they sell. At certain price points its simply wise to spend a little more. My Hatsan Lightning HPAC never performed to specs, when it failed, yes they responded quickly, but though I babied it? It failed me again, I won’t knock the company because of it, lesson learned.

The only Hatsan I own is the Velox pistol. It has performed flawlessly from the day it arrived from Pyramid. I guess I got lucky on the draw. I have over 5K of CPHPs down it and it has never jammed, misfired, or anything else. With that being said, and with all the problems others have, I would probably not purchase another of their products. I bought it from Pyramid because they stand behind their products. I guess I'll buy an AEA next, LOL, NOT
