Hatsan Hercules Hammer Spring

Greetings everyone

I have a question regarding the Hatsan Hercules in Larger Calibers

Has anyone ever cut their hammer spring down a little bit to prevent injury while cocking the Rifle

My Shoulder hurts severely when Cocking mine. I have taken this Rifle apart so many times

and no matter how many turns CCW i do it really hurts bad.

So if mine is .45 Cal approx 290 Fps 850 fps

how much Foot pounds would i lose if i cut lets say 3 or 4 coils off?, and approx how many FPS would i lose

has anyone ever done this on a large Cal Hercules?

Or is there a Lever Mod that I can do to make my Lever have more leverage or larger handle?

I would not cut it I would replace it with a lighter spring. This way you can change it back. 

If you use a lighter striker spring you may need a lighter valve spring also.

Only way to find out how much power you lose is to try it. If you replace the valve spring you may not lose any power

Thank You and Yes I agree which is why I bought an extra spring just in case, and that sounds like a great idea You mentioned to me

Lighter spring inside the Valve yes possibly good rather then replacing the valve. only trial and error will tell
