Hatsan Bully .30 with the DonnyFL Emperor, shooting video added.

Well guys, Let me tell you what I ended up doing to get my Bully .45 to settle down and start shooting very good groups. A very simple fix. To eliminate the twisting you will get with this gun between the bottle shroud and the back receiver screw I made it impossible for the external forces like a bipod to cause a scope mount shift. I put a thin bead of silicone seal on both leading edges of the bottle shroud where it contacts the air bottle. By preventing the bottle shroud from causing the scope mounting rail to move side to side it becomes as solid as a scope rail has to be for accuracy. The silicone is also very easy to slice through for disassembly of the gun if you need to. Hatsan definitely dropped the ball when designing the Bully. Another note: I find the Hatsan Vortex ammo to be very well made and Micrometer readings on it show less than a 1/1000 variation in diameter.

My .30 shoots pretty good but I just might try the silicone bead thing just to see if it makes a difference with the 30. Thanks.

If you have a 3D printer you could make a spacer that's easy to install and remove.

A 3-D printer would be nice to have someday when the prices on them go down.

This one is relatively cheap and very simple to use at $285.

You can also design a part and have an online service or friend print it for you. There is simple online cad software like Tinkercad.com that's completely free to use.

Here is mine. Basically I adjusted the trigger a little and put the DonnyFL Emperor on it, painted the stock and put a bipod on it. If you watch my video you’ll see how quiet it is now, without the LDC it’s very loud.

Good idea, Jland! Anything to help fix that flex. It truly is a one of a kind rifle. Has so so much power. Why more folks don’t look into this Bully is a wonder to me, lol. Maybe we should have a forum dedicated to the hatsan big bores, lol. 

My uncle still hasn’t started machining a one piece rail system for my Bully. I sent him my factory one with specifics to make the riser block and the rail in one piece, make it all just for picatinny mount, and shorten the rail to 18 1/8”, which is the distacnce to catch the last barrel shroud on the bottle cover. For now I am using a rail off of a Bullmaster, and it’s working out sweet. I do miss the look of that bottle cover, but till I get that new one from my uncle I’m just going to go with the bullmaster rail.

my plan is to use 50lb, gorilla brand, double sided tape between the bottle cover and the bottle, to see if that locks up the bottle cover tight. I will keep that silicone idea in mind, though.

I’ve since added a scope throw lever on this Monstrum scope. Makes it so easy to switch from low, to mid, to high magnifications without taking my eye off of the target. Plus, that mag dial on the Monstrum is tight to begin with.
