Hatsan BT65SB QE LW

It's been a few months since I've had the chance to shoot either of my rifles, today I got to shoot both (I have a Diana 36 also but this is a pcp thread).

I last shot my Hatsan when I put on the new LW barrel which was an instant improvement over the standard Hatsan barrel. Since then I have run some JB bore paste up it and opened up the port to match the transfer port. I didn't have time to get the chrono out to see where it's at because of the time spent with the 36.

I set up at 50 yards and shot FX 25.39 pellets, FX hybrid slugs and NSA .218" 24.8gr slugs and wasn't too impressed seeing as I was getting 5/8" groups with the FX pellets at 45 yards previously (should have got the chrono out.

I decided to put 10 NSA slugs in and shoot at my squirrel silhouette which is out at 76 yards. 5 at the target, 5 at the reset...........and shot a 1" group even while it was dropping off the reg.

I suppose there it's something in it when the ammo companies say that slugs are more accurate further out. Also the slugs are hitting my target so hard that the target paddle was dropping and they're bending it!

I hate how long it takes to get a good setup with these things but love what they do at distance.

I'm kind of pissed and kind of not. It sucks that the FX pellets aren't grouping like they were but the trade off is the slugs grouping at distance.

I wonder what it'll do at 100 yards?

Following to see your 100 yards results.

I rezeroed my 500mm barrel Crown at 46 yards last night with the 22 Fx hybrids, as they are the most accurate I have tested so far...I might test some Griffen slugs in the 19- 21 grain range in future. Anyway, I placed a squirrel sized bottle with some water across the pond, and went back to other side. I called my shot in the diamond on the label, and took one shot after ranging and checking Strelok. I only took one shot because I wanted to verify ballistics program values, as well as make it more like a hunting scenario, as most pests only give you one opening.

(Single attempt 72 yards)

It also sucks that they seem to be hungry for the expensive stuff...just placed an order for 4 sleeves of the hybrids today.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing your long range results.

That's a nice single shot. Nothing's getting away from that. I'd like to see what a group looks like from your crown. It's a rifle that I'd like to own someday.
