Hatsan Hatsan Blitz 777 (Refined Semi/Full Auto Beast) w/ 180 shots per fill (Video Review)

Revisiting my bulged right cover and dislocated pin, I decided to have a look at the photo's I took of the gun when it was brand new out of the box. And yes, there was a clear picture amongst them of the right side cover. And you can see that the cover was not properly seated from the beginning and that the pin was not fully inserted into the cover. Thus being only lightly supported by the cover, it is no wonder that the pin slowly got hammered forward. I also posted this picture on a thread in a Dutch airgun forum on aug 2nd, the day my gun arrived. One can also see that there is no airpressure yet in the gun, since I did not have my bottle or compressor yet, so the fun hadn't fired a single shot yet.
So I now have conclusive evidence that this is due to poor assembly from the factory. I have contacted my seller and am curious how it will be handled. (though unfortunately I have learned not to expect much in that regard).

Judging by the position my pin is now in, I suspect I will have the same issue with the hole on the other side being elongated. Too bad because the blitz really is a fun gun while it lasts and it shouldn't be too hard to keep it lasting. Didn't you at least get replacement pins or parts?
Would there be enough room in the frame to drill the elongated hole out and put a bushing in it?

I didn't see anything on the other side that concerned me. But I did get Hatsan to send me some replacement pins. I still need one pin from them that sheared in half, but I apparently gave them the wrong part number, so it's my fault that I don't have that piece right now

There are actually two adjustments to optimize power. The outer ring which I assume is the one you adjusted seems to change bolt tension. There is an inner screw that changes how much air gets used. Fair warning though, took me hours to find a good combination between the two as both can affect how far the bolt can travel, how much tension is on the hammer and how much air is provided to the system.
Is it possibe to show some photo where is that inner screw that changes how much air get used?

That's a bit difficult because this screw sits inside the hammer and you have to stick an allen key through the hammerspring to turn it. But I hope this pictures makes it clear where to find that screw.

And where is that other outer screw that adjust the hammer spring tension? Is that the one on the picture that needed to be removed in order to access the inner screw?

No, the one that needs to be removed is just a centerpiece for the hammerspring so it doesn't bend. The round piece where this screw goes in, is actually a screw itself and can also be turned in or out to adjust hammerspring tension, but you need something with 2 protuding pins to be able to turn it, and you first need to loosen the setscrew on the bottom that blocks it.

I’ve had it with this piece of trash. I’ve spent more time trying to get it to work than I’ve had it in working condition. Half the parts including the frame are jacked up in some way and Hatsan won’t fix it because they claim there’s nothing wrong with it. Even in semi-auto I can’t get more than 850fps with the lightest pellets available.

I made a new coverplate out of 3mm stainless steel instead of the original 1.5mm soft steel. You can see how the pin was elongating the hole it sits in in the original cover. This made auto mode sometimes shoot only 1 shot. If I aligned the pin back in its hole, it would come out again after 2 magazines. Now with the new cover, the pin stays put for already 70 shots.

I made the cover just with a grinder and a handdril with a 3mm and 6mm cobalt drill bit. The rounded corners are not fitting exactly, but it is functional. If it lasts I'll make another plate with the mill at work that fits more tightly and I'll paint it black so it looks a bit better.

I also found an old pig feeder in the old stables on my house and the idea jumped in my head that it could easily be converted into a giant bullet trap.

Welded a small plate in the bottom center to keep a wooden plate in place to stick some targets on:

All was shot from 50 meters away. I started top right, with chinese snowpeak pellets 2.96g. 10 shots. Then moved to the bottom right with JSB exact 2.9g pellets, 9 shots and 1 snowpeak 3.25g pellet that was the last in the can of heavy pellets, it ended up way low.
Then it was full auto time with the extended 33 shot magazine on the 2 middle right targets, using again the chinese snowpeak 2.96g pellets.
And I concluded with 3 shot auto bursts on the 2 middle left targets, also with the chines snowpeak 2.96g pellets.

And yes, the bullets get trapped nicely! And the wood chips too!

A day off work, fixed my gun, made a bullet trap and had fun shooting. Life as it should be!

Excellent work. I wish I had machining tools. After making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, Hatsan agreed to service mine again and stated they wouldn't void my warranty for simply taking it apart. I'm asking them to replace the frame and the other broken parts I found.

Nice, I hope Hatsan repairs it thoroughly this time. The Blitz is really a fun gun to shoot if it's working correctly.

Just got a call from Pyramid Air. Hatsan apparently called them to refund my money. I would buy another but not with these apparently common critical issues. So now I have several high-capacity magazines and 1000s of rounds that I have no use for. Guess I'll be selling these things.
