Hatsan 95 Vortex. Hard to charge

Yes, you should cock the gun and oil the detent / mechanism , brace the gun with butt on floor and barrel drooped in the open position and then push it in and out with a rubber mallet to lubricate and loosen, when they dry up they make it hard to break the barrel...

You can remove the action from the stock and moly lube all moving parts and check if the bind is due to crappy machine work typical of Hatsans perhaps where the arm may be rubbing against the cylinder.

It should be around 40 pounds or just under that in regards to cocking effort and may smoothen out as it breaks in.

Don't clean the barrel unless accuracy suffers and worth trying Crosman 14.3gr pointed in the 175 count tins.

Yes crappy machining. The hole for the Chisel detent in mine is oversized and very rough. My barrel will jiggle up and down a tiny bit when closed. Hatsan Has lousy QC. I hope his is better than mine. I can shoot mine with open sights OK but no scope.
