Hatsan 95 question.

I just bought a Hatsan on Ebay. I thought about for a week or more. I looked at the pictures over and over. Then I bought it based on he reviews I saw.

My question, Does Hatsan make a spring only verison and a gas model . I have read the gas piston is the way to go. But it is on the way now so it is a little late to ask. The add said that he bought it last year so I hope it has the late model features. It has SAS on it.

Thanks for you replies

God Bless

Yup correct both. I have had their vortex, and that is the only one I would get (I have had their springers in the past too, but they are passable). I have a blurry history and love hate relationship with Hatsan (I work with fine woods a lot and love their Walnut stocks). Anyway, I hope it works out for you, and the 95 is one of their more reliable models and a great price.

Hate to bring it up, but you are more likely to be sorry if you didn't get a QE model with the integrated silencer. I owned a 95 spring. It was not a QE model and was too loud for my situation. I even fit a homemade silencer on, which worked but made it obscenely long. If it was a QE I would have kept it, it's a beefy springer that balances out its recoil, has an adjustable trigger and is not underpowered. Good value for your money. I later got a vortex qe model but sold it after settling on a SiG ASP20.

Can't believe it.

I wouldn't sweat it or stress over whether it's a spring or gas ram. When you finally get it, clean the barrel, check your stock screws (the back one in the trigger guard is the one most likely to loosen up if one does) and then just shoot it...a lot. Get a feel for the rifle, how it shoots, trigger pull and get totally comfortable with it before you decide whether you like or dislike it.

Yep, that Quattro trigger is different but quite adjustable and there's any number of videos on the net on how to do it. As far as pull, yep, it's a bit strange as it pulls up at something like a 30 degree angle and not back like most triggers but you can try that 2 ways. One is to rest your thumb straight up and down just under the safety, finger on the trigger and picture yourself squeezing your thumb and forefinger together. Second way is to just let your trigger finger follow the curve of the trigger guard as you pull. Takes a bit, did for me but once you do it for awhile, it becomes second nature.

Best pellets will likely be something H&N, JSB or mine in .22 liked the RWS Superdomes. If it's a .177, something in the 8-10 grain range will probably work best.

Thanks Scp52,

I decided like you suggest . I am not going to dislike the rifle before I get it. People shot spring rifles a long time before Gas pistons showed up. Some of them had to be good or folks would not keep buying them.

I am more worried about how it shoots than the sound. It looks like it has a suppresor in the pictures.

About the ammo. I have a Benjaman that shoots great with H&N and JSB but it will not shoot the budget pellets and I expect no less from the Hatsun. I will have to buy some Superdomes. I do like trying to get good groups.

I do hope for no Barrel droop. Fixing barrel droop was fairly costly for me. I tried Three scopes, Shims, three sets of rings and then I bought a set of adjustable rings,.While it was not fun at the time it gave me a lot of experince with air guns.

Looking foward to the trigger. I have read a lot about them.

God Bless
