Has this ever happened to anyone?

I was about to sit down and shoot my .22 cricket and was thunderstruck and confused. I open a brand-new tin of .22 JSB 25.39 pellets and they wouldn't fit in my mag.

I looked closer at the pellets and saw they were .25 cal pellets.

I then looked at the cricket and was stunned to see .25 cal on the breach block.

I was thinking this hold time I bought a .22 cricket but something wasn't right here because I knew I was shooting the 25 grain monster in this gun. I went back in to the house and opened a new tin of pellets and this time they fit in the mag. The sun started moving in the right direction now and everything was ok. For some crazy reason, the .25 cal 25.34 grain pellets were accidentally loaded in to the wrong tin. It was that or someone played a very cruel (but funny) joke on me.

Not exactly like that but I have reached for a tin of the wrong caliber pellets a number of times. It's always the .22 and .25s that give me the problem. Don't seem to have that with the .177. Mostly because they come in a smaller screw top tin most of the time.

I do have to stop myself and remember - "is this rifle a .22 or .25", when I'm looking for a specific purpose. Oh, well.

That’s funny. Just last week I was shooting my .25 and after a cpl mags it jammed there were .22’s mixed in the tin with the .25’s. Jsb also. First time I’ve ever had that happen to me Was also a fresh tin. Stranger things have happened tho. Lol

The kicker for me was the .25 cal printed on the cricket breach block.

So your Cricket that is marked 25 cal actually has a 22 cal barrel in it? Did you buy it new or used? Has the barrel been changed by someone or did the gun ship from the factory like that? Interesting situation.

I remember several years ago there was a thread on why Kalibrgun labels all their blocks all .25 cal. Some said so it was to get past customs while others said it was more cost savings. I got this gun used but I also use to own several other Kalibrguns before and from what I remember, they all said .25 cal

The 177's look so darn tiny it intimidates me, makes me think I won't be able to pick them up with my clumsy fingers or see with my old-guy eyes whether I'm loading them right-side up or down. So I never confuse them with .22's. Being decrepit FTW!

Going from a .25 to a .177 is almost mind boggling. The .177's seem like a miniature pellet, almost too small and fragile. I've killed a few ground squirrels with them at 30 yards, though. They are effective, but sooo tiny.

Makes me think I should go out and open all the JSB’s I have and verify the contents of each container!

Was this a relatively new tin of pellets?

I bought these pellets the beginning of this year when I use to own own an impact. 

This reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode of a guy who comes home only to find out his hold family doesn't know who he is.
