Has anyone used a carrette filter with a hand pump?

In order to keep moisture out of my new air rifle while using a hand pump, has any one used a Carrett filter with a hand pump?

Think about the number of strokes of the pump it will take to fill the filter to pressure. The smaller the filter the better with the hand pump. Something like this is likely quite a bit smaller so would be easier with a hand pump. Mine came with a minimal amount of desiccant though, like a tablespoon or two, so had to get more to make it useful.
