Has anyone tried one of these Chronys? Thoughts?

I bought one of these on a whim because it was "cheap". I am mystified by the number of negative reviews that I have seen on Amazon. I have several shooting sites and therefore have several chronographs to prevent having to haul them around. The first thing that I do is verify agreement between the units. This unit agrees well with my two prochrono units and my lab radar. It is never more than 7fps different than the others in a range from 460fps
(I have Olympic pistols in this range) up to the 1000fps the various PCP that I have achieve.

My lab radar sometimes fails to track .177 pellets past 30m and so I just put this one down range and record manually the velocity seen through the scope. You can change the time that each shot is displayed, or you can go back and step through the string. One downside is each time you turn it on it defaults to mps and you have to quick as a bunny select fps.

It was cheap (not so much anymore) and is reliable. I can read the display in bright sun.

I use one of these . small / light weight very portable . $23 free shipping with Prime .
within 3 FPS tested against Lab Radar .
Thanks for the suggestion but I'm looking for one that mounts on a tripod, not barrel mounted. My old Chrony has a short that I haven't been able to track down & it's getting temperamental. Looking for a backup of that type for as cheaply as I can get away with.
