Has anyone had any luck with H&N Baracuda Green pellets in FX guns?

Hey Gang

Ordered H&B Baracuda green pellets for my FX based on review that it has great accuracy for alloy/lead free pellets. Well that didn't turn out true for me, they fly everywhere! Even at 20 yards the group is 3 inch, crazy bad. I even switched between my pellet liner and slug liner but same results. I'm trying to shoot them at around 750 fps, being a diabolo pellet I don't think it needs higher speed for accuracy. Frustrated I loaded up JSB kings and it's pellet on pellet again so the gun is shooting straight but these pellets are all over the place. I originally want to use them for pest control in the back yard but with such poor accuracy I'm at the point of giving up and returning them or whatever else I can do with them.

Anyone had any luck with these lead free pellets? I'm at a lost here, the STX liner isn't supposed to be pellet fussy but these pellets simply aren't working for me.

Getting this out of the way...I have never shot lead free before.

They weigh less than lead therefore the ftlbs are less at same speeds. Id just treat it like a regular pellet and put it at the 850 to 950 zone and see if your groups improve. At with your setup shooting light pellets 750fps you would need a mosquito fart of air (technical term). I wonder if your valve is staying open too long and the excess air is hitting it from behind as it exits the barrel. Your shooting .25? Surprisingly that setup is still 24ftlbs.

I have experimented with Baracuda green and GTO lead free in my Marauders and the GTO's group much better even though I didn't retune for the lighter pellet and they were probably around 960 fps. Here is the card for the .25 Mrod (mixed in with the .177 as labled). The top right are the GTO's at 30 yards. The third row shows JSB 25.4 in the first two columns and the GTO to the right.

Baracuda green bottom right for 5 shots, first column, third row GTO for 10 shots, Top left and center JSB.

None of these rifles really likes any of the H&N pellets.

Good point, I have not changed valving yet but the regulator pressure is way down and so is hammer spring. My understanding is that if I turn down the hammer spring down then it might not even fully open the valve so the valve should close before the pellet exit and I have 700mm so plenty of runway. Either way I'll turn down the valve to 2 lines and see if the grouping improves.

Got 4 tins of Hades and they shoot exactly like the JSB domed pellet so might just stick with Hades at 690 FPS I have right now and call it a day. They are the first "hollow point" pellet I've tried that shoots like the JSB domed pellets, no issues at all sending 10 pellets through the same hole at my 20 yard zeroing distance.
