Has anyone else tried slicing fruit with their air gun?

I like to find different uses for airguns, like trimming small branches for my Deerstand.

I decided to pull out the Stier A5 22 To give myself a little more fire power for the squirrels. It’s getting tough to even get a shot let alone get close.

I wanted to check my zero. I stepped outside and there were a few robins chewing on my apples, which I don’t mind. As the apples were a perfect target, I decided to take advantage. These were 53 yards away. I shot them off hand Wham! Wham!. Check out what it did to the apples. I’ve never seen or imagined anything like it.

Interesting. I wouldn’t have expected that. I shot a tin can that was full of water with a 22 H&N Terminator pellet and was shocked by the amount of damage it caused.

Hmmm, you sure those apples weren't run through a slicer?

Last week I caught the wife tossing a dozen or so gulf ball size tangerines so took them outside and lined them up. Shot them with Airforce Talon. 25......they disintegrated. 

Told the wife " Don't throw away anything that can be shot ". Lol

Yes, grapefruit it seems to mimic game I hunt . For testing slugs mainly.

thats pretty neat .. i was shooting a few cherry tomatoes off the plants awhile back .. not too many, i dont really like lead in the yard around the garden or where the chickens roam ..

I expected them to explode. The fact that I got almost identical results from two different apples, I found weird. One of them has six slices and one of them has five. And both shots went in from the side. Still shaking my head about that result.

And yes, I think the squirrels are on thin ice.

Me and my friend once made significant pruning of small branches on a dead tree, easy with the smaller ones even at some distance 25 M i recon.

But the larger ones in the end required several well placed shots of our .22 FAC cyclone and cutlass to trim that branch.

Hmmm... I think we need video verification. Just way to clean. I just finished chopping a 5" tree that was just in the way, the wind broke it at my aim point after I made a 1/2" hole and was working on the edges.

Yes it took well over 1500 shots with a 22 and 18 to 24grain.

Open that apple up and you'll find that the core has 6 "spokes" on it as well. That was a heck of a shot to hit like that.

I did Zoom and indeed, same results. Love apples but this is making me want to waist one or two.
