But 500 is still pretty good. Popped this young (cahones yet to descend) but fat male at close to 6:00 just an hour or so ago, he's already cleaned and marinating in zesty Italian dressing.
He moved just as I was pulling the trigger, but it must have hit close because he jumped straight up and skedaldled to the top of a shag bark hickory. I waited him out, and we played peek-aboo for 10 minutes or so, and he finally ran for it out on a limb and I was able to pop him good just before he was able to leap to an adjacent cedar.
Used my Cothran balanced valve & regged 2250 carbine again, as long as I do my part, it does the job -
