Happy Pulsar Birthday to me

I might be letting the cat out of the bag but...AOA's owner Robert took me in the back room and showed me what I think is a game changer. A Bantam Sniper in full bull-pup configuration. The barrel is about 3 inches shorter, fully regulated and externally adjustable. Move over Wildcat there's a new player in town, and with a 5 year warranty to boot.

Congrats on the new Pulsar, hawkeye69. I'll bet it's a hoot. Anxious to hear your progress reports as you continue testing through the break-in.

Curious about Robert's (AoA's) hyping of the Brocock Bantam Sniper bull-pup. Admittedly, Daystate and Brocock have stepped up their game a lot, and I too am enthused about their improvements and innovations. But, did Robert actually demonstrate to you what makes the Bantam Sniper a "game changer"? If it's really better than a Wildcat, I'd like to try one.

But, through several phone conversations with AoA over the past months, I detect from AoA some animosity toward FX Airguns because they opened their own service and warranty and repair center (FX-USA), thereby taking business away from AoA. Since then I've seen a concerted "de-emphasis" of FX products, and an obvious shift of promotion toward Daystate and Brocock at AoA. As a matter of fact, AoA won't even sell me repair parts for my FX guns. Twice they've told me to call FX-USA. I attempted to order a small part for my FX Boss from AoA. AoA offered to replace that part if I shipped the gun to them and hired them (for $200) to completely overhaul the entire gun. I told the sales rep that the gun didn't need an overhaul and that I was fully capable on my own of replacing the part that I wanted. At that point AoA's sales rep flatly told me that they were not going to simply sell me the small part that I wanted and to call FX-USA.

The point of all this is NOT to stir the pot. My point is that if the Brocock Bantam Sniper really is the new "go to" gun, and that it's better than an FX Wildcat, I want to see the the proof. But I don't want to see people hurt by all the hype, when the hype is merely rooted in a petty business squabble between FX Airguns and AoA. Boys will be boys. AoA is bound to promote the guns that best butter their bread. I get that. But I'm not falling for mere hype.

Robert, please show us what makes the Brocock Bantam Sniper the new "go to" gun. And what makes it better than an FX Wildcat. I can be persuaded. But first, show me the proof.

Addendum: I took the AoA sales rep's advice and called FX-USA and ordered the little part that I needed. What would have cost me $200 plus two-way shipping (another hundred) from AoA, I got from FX-USA for the grand total of SQUAT. And I got it quick too! Thanks Newman and FX-USA.

Robert simply gave me the opportunity to look at the gun, he didn't mention the Wildcat or FX. The term "Game changer" was my choice and I picked the Wildcat for comparison as it's a regulated bull pup in the same price range.. I have both a Bantam and a Wildcat and I find the Bantam to be just as accurate even though mine is unregulated.

To my way of thinking, if it's just as accurate, plus an externally adjustable Huma regulator, dual gauges, pic rails, and a 5 year warranty. I think it could well be a game changer. As a bottle gun shot count should be better too.

And my comment about what Robert said was based on a happenstance conversation between Robert and another AoA employee. I happened to be standing nearby when I heard Robert, with a Sniper in his hands, mention to the employee that he thought the new Bantam Sniper was going to be a very significant air rifle in the marketplace.

As one who is considering purchase of a Wildcat, I will have to seriously consider the Bantam Sniper also, as I may prefer a semi-bullpup over a full bullpup, may prefer its Huma regulator, definitely prefer its 5-year warranty, and especially for me, the close proximity to AoA is a big plus factor as I can drive there in person for any Brocock warranty work that may be needed. Bantam Sniper may steal a Wildcat sale, with my money. May be. We shall see.

Congrats on the Pulsar!! Dang nice gun. I've been thinking about getting one for about a year now. But I bought the RedWolf and just love the way it shoots. I might have to sell a gun or two to make some space for another gun. I've said before, I have too many really nice guns. It is a difficult choice on which one to shoot each day.

Send us pics of the Pulsar.

Topped it off with a 6-24 X 56 Sidewinder. I hoped JSB 18's would shoot well at low power, but they don't, not at any power.

It likes JSB Monsters and shoots them equally well on both medium and high power with only a slight POI change. I still have to do some more shooting to get the barrel seasoned, it's just been too hot to stay out for long.

Congrats Hawkeye, Daystate E-guns are game changers for sure. I only take the wildcat out when weight is a concern. My buddy says I am cheating when shooting the Redwolf against him on birds and squirrels. I just wish the renegade/pulsar had a bottle and weighed less, they are heavy guns for sure. That said I have no idea what gun will be next after currently owning 2 Renegades and a Redwolf. Shooting a gun with what people would consider a nice trigger feels like I am pulling teeth out of an old mule after shooting my e-guns. All you people that say I cant own an electronic gun get out of the cave. Your fears are just unfounded. It's called progress. Cant wait to see what another year will bring us.

The Pulsar HP is one that's been on my radar ... Can't wait to hear HawkEye's report outs!

Thanks to you Hookster, I made the leap into e-guns. Man, the more I shoot the RedWolf the more I dig it. Yup, the trigger is sweet... but for me, the lever action is so damn smooth it's hard to describe. My Wildcat will live with me forever... but there is simply no comparison to e-guns in terms of smoothness.

Congrats

950-975 fps for the 18.1 it will shoot well out of the poly barrel

975 low 18

860 mid 25.4

and 950 25.4

this is our setting for both red and pulsar HP

also try some different batch from the 18’s

It's shooting the 18's on low power at around 900 FPS, but they aren't grouping well. But I'll give it some more time to settle in before making a final judgement.

With my RW .22HP, my best groups are definitely with the 25.39 Monsters. Seems like this rifle was made for the 25.39 gr. I'm using the old style, have not yet tried the re-designed. I shoot them on Low Power quite a bit at 35 yds, est.751 fps. Getting about 160 or so shots on an air fill with LOW power. I like it!

Same with me. I've been shooting old style 25.39s mostly on medium power, but I haven't done a shot count yet.

Big and slow, cream-puff loads, like the venerable .45auto target loads! 😝

Grouping is much better with the single shot tray rather than the magazine.

I tried JSB 15.89 on low power, got 945 FPS which is right around 31 FPE and they grouped great.

I'll have to try the 18.13s again with the single shot tray this time. Losing the light now.

Factory setting is around 900 on low

we went up to 975 fps with the ecu programmer (from the IT. Dep thanks ) which he found its the best setting for the 18’s
