Hand Pump...can it fill an empty pcp bottle

So here is the story behind it... My BSA r10 se was giving inconsistent FPS. so I tried cleaning the regulator block. during assembling it back I couldn't tighten the regulator block enough and it was leaking during pumping. then tighten the screw enough and rotated the block and it worked.. then started pumping it and was hearing air leak near bottle valve. tried cocking it---got my self exhausted but got nowhere on the gauge. is it really a leak or it actually requires blast from HPA tank to shut the valve.

I fill bottles from zero all the time with a hand pump. Make sure it’s cocked so the hammer isn’t holding the valve open. Some poppets don’t seal well until some pressure is on them, so you may have to burnish it to the valve with a mild abrasive. Or as you said, use a SCBA bottle to hit it with some pressure to make it seal.

Hey nervoustring

I couldn't do it in assembled form. Also that separate filling adapter was also not available. So i tried the fill adapter which is built-in with the gun. Had to move back its pin to make sure it wouldn't hit the valve. Although it hurt the threads a little, but it worked
