I got my Hades pellets a bit ago and tested enough to see they were very accurate and consistent (great grouping) but for better or worse had no real opportunity to pest with them, till today. Got a shot at a chipmunk and a squirrel in the AM, both at about 30 yards. Both taken with my Kalibrgun Cricket Mini Carbine shooting around 930fps. 

The Chipper took one to the body, but I hit pretty low and got him in the abdomen. However, the blow was so powerful that it put it down instantly. Too small a critter not to have pass through that pushed guts out.

The squirrel took one to the neck. There was no exit wound I could find, but could not find the pellet or fragments either. Pretty severe damage was noted during the “autopsy”

So are they any better than polymags? That is what i will be comparing them to. I wonder if its worth the price though. Super expensive.

Polymags shot so bad in the two guns I've tested them, I think I could throw a handful of them and get a better group. The Hades do great in the same two guns (Impact and Gauntlet) you just have to send them fast to get explosive expansion.

I have had mixed results with the Polymags. The Hades seem to be very consistent so far, and frankly, well worth the price at that kind of precision and stopping power. Remember, you are not gonna be plinking with these, or Polys for that matter. But, at the end of the day, if my guns shot Polys as good as Hades, I would stick to Polys.

As previously stated on this forum, I have shot about every type of pellet available over the last 10 years through my AA PCPs. Currently, I probably have 40,000 pellets on my pellet rack.

While the polymags do expand well, I have not found their accuracy to be sufficient for me beyond 25 to 30 yards.

The exciting thing about the Hades pellets, is that they are producing very consistent 50 yard groups after extensive testing, nearly equivalent to the AA 18.3 and the H&N Baracuda Match 21.14 which here-to-fore shot groups far better than any other pellet combination in my rifle. Nearly all of the groups at 50 yards are within a range of 1" to 1.25", with a couple of them inside of an inch.

Over the past few weeks I have had an opportunity to shoot several pests of different varieties with the HADES pellets, and the results have been devasting to the pests - all one shot kills - some as far as 45 yards - producing tremendous hemorrhaging unlike anything I have ever encountered short of a powder burner delivering considerably more velocity.

Couple the accuracy with the expansion, and we have a real winner.....

I can’t speak on how squirrel or chipmunk tastes but I like cooking up the odd rabbit or two. My question is if it’s not a head shot how do you remove the lead fragments from the meat. Reminds me when we were allowed to shoot ducks when I was young and having to spit out the lead shot from the shot gun we used. It sometimes spoiled the meal.

I just zeroed my Royale and Wildcat with the Hades this weekend. I can only shoot to 30 yards in my backyard but both of the airguns seemed to like the Hades at that distance. I’d say the groups are very good but not quite as good as with JSB 18.13. The difference is small and won’t make a difference for pesting.

Im hoping to get out later this week and try them out on our local collared dove population where my shots range from 30-105 yards.

Gary, only way to know about taste is to give one a try. I don't recommend eating Chipmunks 1 too small 2 nasty boogers seem to have lots of bugs/parasites, at least around these parts. 

If I take a head shot, I just dress the rest of the body and make sure there's no evidence of pellets. If I take a body shot, I am likely to just use the lower half as food, that is, hind legs and torso, that's where most of the meat is. Although, some folk eat all of it, including the brains, I guess you would need a nice clean broadside lung/heart shot for that.
