H&N + STX Pellet Barrel B ????

Hey All

Just installed the "B" Pellet liner on my FX Crown .22 (500mm). From reading around, I hear some people have issues with the JSB Redesigned Monsters at farther ranges. Has anyone had any luck with the H&N Match 21.14, either in a 5.52 or 5.53 head size. I thought I would ask around before I began throwing money at pellets.

If so...What are your settings?

Thanks!

In a word, HORRIBLE. I bought a used .22 pellet liner B 500mm last year and finally got around to trying it out. I polished the barrel (JB Bore paste) before install. Set up the gun to shoot the H&N Barracuda Match at about 875 FPS (xfer port at .25/.30, reg. pressure at 130 bar, HST at max). Used the 5.53 diameter pellets. Shot them where I do initial testing, about 15 yards in my back yard (that's as far as I can go in downtown San Diego). In the A liner with JSB 18.1s, I can shoot an entire magazine through the same hole. With the H&N Barracuda Match, the best I could do were cloverleaf groups. I also tried the JSB Heavy 18.1 in the B liner, same results as the H&N. This liner is going in the "store it" bin… Unless someone else wants to try it out?

I'd call it an epic FAIL. Maybe the slug liner is better? Oh wait! Maybe since they aren't accurate at 15 yards, they will self correct and be very accurate at 50 and 100 yards... LOL! J/K...

But for regular JSB 18.1 grain pellets its hard to beat the pellet A liner. I've shot over 730 at 25M Benchrest with that gun/pellet/liner combo at around 890 FPS. The 15.9 grain JSBs are just as accurate as the 18.1s in this gun/liner combo.
