H&N Baracuda Match .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains, Round Nose thru FX SmoothTwist questio

I am the proud owner of an FX Dreamline BullPup in 22 cal.

I'm shooting JSB 18.13g with the reg on 125 which, with my current hammer spring setting, produces 910fps, and it shoots fantastic!!

Me, being the dummy I am, can't leave well enough alone.

I want some more fpe and I'm thinking the best way to do it is to increase the weight of my projectile.

I want to order some H&N 21.14g pellets but there is multiple head sizes available; from 4.5 to 5.51mm.

Anyone have any experience with fx smooth twist barrels with these H&N pellets?

Which head size will work better?

Thanks for any input!!

Will

I have shot many of the HN 21.4 pellets and long ago decided that in general the 5.52 head diameter was the best for the barrel that I had, which was the Smooth Twist However, in more recent times, I am finding that HN QC is somewhat lacking and when buying 21.14/5.52 head size, they are mostly 5.53 and 5.54 and do not shoot as well in my barrel as they once did.

I like the pellets due to the weight as you stated and they are accurate enough usually for hunting and once in while I get decent 50 yard groups, so they are not terrible. I am going to try upping the velocity this weekend to see if that helps out as at the moment, they are pushing around 915 FPS and I had tried 885 FPS without much luck. I have seen on this forum of late that perhaps closer to 940-950 may be the magic spot?

Here are some pics at 45 yards with H&N Baracuda 5.51 Match shooting 889 fps. I'm not sure if yours can shoot that high without a power plenum.

I'll try to shoot them faster when my FX carbon fiber sleeve shows up.
