H&N Baracuda 18gr - new hunting pellet?

Finally able to test out the new Baracuda 18gr with my FX Crown and Daystate Regal. Surprisingly it performed well in both of my guns. My go to pellets are the AA 16gr and 18gr, but these Baracuda will give me another viable option.

I just got some air arms Pellets to try in my Daystate Huntsman Revere. I think I already have some H&N And want to give them a try also. So far the only thing I’ve shot out of it is JSB 18.1 Grn.Which shoot pretty good. But it’s nice to know that you got good results with them.

@Ripper. I used to shoot only JSB but after trying out the AA I never looked back. You just have to test and try all types to see what work best for your guns. Good luck.

@max115 thanks for the video. To me, it seem H&N is stepping up there game because several people in addition to you are getting good results with the H&N 18.1 gr.

I can't wait to give the 18.1 grainers a try when I get my next gun in .22 cal.

I picked up 2 cans when they were available, tried them in 4 different .22 rifles, they were accurate in all of them. I am pleased to have another option like that.

@darkskyy and @max115 I asked because I had an issue with them fitting loosely in my Brocock Bantam Sniper .25 mag. Consequently, if I wasn't careful while loading the pellet's dome would get nicked in the process of advancing the magazine. Accuracy wasn't too bad, but I did notice some odd fliers periodically. After I switched to JSBs the issue was non-existent. It seems that in my case the Barracuda skirts were narrower which accounted for the movement. I was curious to see if anyone had similar problems in different rifles and calibers using H&N Baracudas. Thanks for the replies.

@Ezana4CE. thats unfortunate that the barracuda doesn't fit well in your magazine. have you tried single load? if the accuracy is there then it is worth to have this pellet in your arsenal. So far I have only shot them in my Crown and Regal. I will try them out later in my Impact and my HW100 to see if they shoots well or fit well. I did noticed fliers so I weight and sort them out into different weight. So far I have only found a few of them in the lighter and heavier than the 18.16gr which luckily is about 90% of the pellets in a tin. I find that if I want to have consistent groups then weighting and sorting is necessary. I know it is time consuming but for me it works.
