GX-E-5k2 vs Tuxing Dive Compressor (Blue units)

This hot weather has me thinking about a upgrade in compressors . I’ve got 2 GX-CS3
and had nothing but good things to say especially because parts are available for repairs somewhat reasonably and because the fact that I purchased them right before the Gx-cs4 was released and regretted it since not that the model 3 is not good . It’s a great compressor but hot weather causes it to struggle compressing longer fills .
I’m thinking about going for a one and done upgrade eventually like the 2 above mentioned compressors and getting a 6.8 tank .
It appears from reading the Tuxing dive compressor might fill quicker as it states 6.8 tank filled at a rate of under 30 minutes vs 45 for the Gx compressor but I like the fact that the Gx is watercooled for longevity plus having owned Gx compressors and knowing their quality makes it difficult to choose it out .
I was wondering does anyone out there have any experience with the blue Tuxing dive compressors . They have filtration standard and breathing quality air too . Electric or gas powered but I prefer the electric models . I wonder how getting parts for a tuxing would be as both are Chinese manufacturers I believe . How is he quality and longevity on the blue dive model Tuxing ? It appears to be a copied design of a coltri compressor design .Does anyone have any experience with either ?

I don't have experience to answer what you are asking, but I wanted to point out that one should not focus on the duration it takes to do something that you might only do once every 5 years or even less often (like filling a 6.8L tank from empty), and more on how long you might have to run it every week (or however often you'd need to) in order to meet your shooting needs. I think you'll find the difference in compressors is not really that noticeable when you think that way - something like a 10 minute run vs. a 14 minute run; I mean does it even matter at that point . . .

Like you, I have two GX SC3 units purchased a year apart and still running strong. Only thing ever done to each was a full cleaning and lube job to the cylinder parts. I recently purchased a GX CS4-I during the Amazon Prime sale and must say my guns do fill a bit faster but the best part is how much quieter the unit is in comparison. With the much larger Tuxin and dual cylinder GX units you will have a lack of portability and possibly challenges with storage space. My CS4-I sits on the kitchen counter when in use and not in a hot garage. Something to think about.

I have a CS4 that I used to fill a 9 L tank. Even from empty it only took like 3 hours. I don't shoot so often in anyway even if I did a fill of a 9 L tank keeps me going for the whole day. So it doesn't matter how long it takes to refill it. The CS4 so quiet it can work while I'm sleeping. Use more than a 9 L tank a day you can get two tanks and alternate them. While the CS4 is filling one you're emptying the other and you'll never run out of air and that's without buying a larger more expensive compressor. That said as many give positive reviews to the GX line of compressors, they're made in China so there's a probability that they dead on arrival. The quality control isn't top line. You can get a lemon.

Faster fills are not always best. Hot air makes friction and friction can cause water vapor in your tank.

Make sure you get the warranty from Amazon! $60 for three years negates the chance of a lemon.

Close, but not quite . . .

The air charge gets hot during compression, and faster speeds mean less time for the air charge to cool down after compression, before it gets to the tank (or filter). Air leaving a compressor will, by basic physics, be at 100% humidity and carry as much water vapor as it can (unless significantly dried by desiccants before compression). A hotter air charge can carry more water vapor than a cooler air charge, so a faster compressor will transport more water vapor through the system than a slower compressor.

In all cases, an appropriate adsorbing desiccant filter should be used in the system, and then there is nothing much to worry about . . .

I've been around these forums since 2013. I don't know much about the current Tuxing units but that brand never had a great reputation. Matter of fact, the reports from real World users that I know from the forums placed them somewhere below the Yong Heng and it's knock offs. I would place the GX line above the YH and the like.
This is just ones man's opinion. At the end of the day.. it's up to you.
