This is just a picture of my vibration meter on one of my GX CS4's.. This is the Internal version and the external powered one has about the same hours.
Every time it slows a tiny bit, I run it without the check valve for an hour or two. I've done it a few time to each.
Both still fill a dead head in under 30 seconds.
71.1 hours and it was run for hours before the meter was installed.

It expells excess grease from the cylinder. I covered mine with a shop towel and a weight. Ran it unloaded with the bleed closed for about 45 minutes. Clean the recess with a cotton swab, clean the check valve. Replace parts. There is a video or two on this site. The noise it makes irritates the heck out of my dog, me also for that matter.

@MACTEN
I'm curious about what running without the check valve accomplishes
Will you explain, please?
Also
While the valve is out do you clean it?

Thanks
Edward
With mine almost nothing comes out but a tiny bit of grease and some condensation. From my before after inspection of the cylinders, it seems grease can clog the check valves inside the cylinder causing it not to seal completely and slowing the fill. Letting it move without load seems to dislodge that grease back into the cylinder.
